Rhea Beckett

Rhea Beckett (she/her) is an artist and fifth-generation educator whose work centers on knowledge-sharing, collaboration, and preserving Black cultural legacies. She has an extensive background in music and vocal performance and was a member of the world-renowned Fisk Jubilee Singers, the official ambassadors of the African American spiritual. Her creative work has been highlighted in BmoreArt, Nashville Arts, The Baltimore Banner, The Baltimore Beat, Washingtonian, DCist, Forecast Public Art, Canadian Art, and Boston Art Review. Beckett graduated from Fisk University and received her MFA in Curatorial Practice from MICA. She returns to her performance practice after founding Black Artist Research Space (BARS), a creative platform for emerging artists.
