Every Hole, a Portal: Films by Madsen Minax

In partnership with WPA and Suns Cinema, Eames Armstrong presents two nights of film by Madsen Minax. Join us Thursday, March 7th at 7pm for the surreal feature length Kairos Dirt & the Errant Vacuum at Suns Cinema, and on Saturday, March 9th at 5pm for an evening of short films and a conversation with filmmaker at WPA. Both film seek to Imaginative engagement with alternative worlds and subcultures.

Event Schedule:

Thursday, March 7th, 7pm – 9pm – A feature length screening of the experimental film Kairos Dirt & the Errant Vacuum by Madsen Minax at Suns Cinema

Saturday, March 9th at 5pm – 7pm – A screening of selected short films by Madsen Minax and a panel discussion with the artist, Farrah Skeiky, a local photographer of DC’s hardcore punk scene and Eames Armstrong, the Artist-Curator. This panel aims to address the reality and pitfalls of sub/countercultures visibility.

About Feature film:

Kairos Dirt & the Errant Vacuum, 2017 – Through dreamscapes, television monitors, radio frequencies, and orifices a queer middle school lunch lady and a non-binary student discover a fantastic and carnal alternate dimension occupied by a genderless apparition.

About Shorts:

The Eddies, 2018 – A death and destruction-obsessed transsexual searches for human connection in the humid Southern underground worlds of internet hook-ups and storm tunnels.​ (16 min)

The Source is a Hole, 2017 – A mystical voice contemplates mythology, science fiction, sexuality and death as a series of holes: through which to travel, through which to perceive, through which to accept, through which to speak. (25 min)

My Most Handsome Monster, 2014 – From vast, mystical, and historically charged landscapes, My Most Handsome Monster documents two separate BDSM scenarios as they unfold between queer sex workers and their play partners. (13 min)
