Silvia Rivas

Silvia Rivas (Argentinian, born 1957) lives and works in Buenos Aires. She graduated from the Escuela Nacional de Bellas Artes. In 2001, Rivas was awarded the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship. Rivas was also awarded an Artist in Residence Fellowship at the Wexner Center for the Arts, Columbus, Ohio in 2005. In 2006 and 2007, she placed second and third prize at the Salón Nacional de Artes Visuales, Argentina. In addition to her second solo exhibition at Diana Lowenstein Fine Arts, Rivas has shown at the Bronx Museum, New York; El Centro Cultural Ciudad de Buenos Aires, Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes; and Museo de Arte Moderno de Buenos Aires, Argentina; ARCO, Spain; The Havana Biennale, Cuba; Art Basel, Miami Beach; Art Basel, Switzerland; the 15th Edition of Video Brazil in Sao Paulo, and the Mercosur Biennial, Porto Alegre, Brazil. She lives and works in Buenos Aires.
