Washington Produced Artists

WPA revealed their new space in the brand new Atlantic Plumbing DC building near the U Street Corridor and cultural district! On November 14th the WPA celebrated their 40th anniversary with the opening reception of the exhibition – “Washington Produced Artists.”
The inaugural exhibition in the new space served as a proud recognition of local artists who created significant works in conjunction with WPA early in their careers and who have since built esteemed reputations.
Curated by Laura Roulet and featured work by longtime D.C. metro-area resident artists William Christenberry, Jim Sanborn, Joyce J. Scott and Dan Steinhilber, “Washington Produced Artists,” showcased a mobile public art project created by Workingman Collective, a video installation by Michelle Lisa Herman, and an opening reception performance by Maida Withers Dance Construction Company.
