Lobby Project: Michael Crossett
WPA is pleased to present Michael Crossett’s installation, Swampoodle Evolved, as a continuation of our Lobby Project partnership with NoMa BID.
Michael Crossett’s work has recently focused on the neighborhoods of Washington, DC. As the city continues to transform, Crossett has found himself drawn to contrast of historic and contemporary architecture, commercialism, and the energy that surrounds him. He is, in a way, his own architect, creating new structures by juxtaposing photography and found images with relevant and commercial symbols and icons.
As a newly redeveloped neighborhood, NoMa holds great interest for Crossett. The introduction of the Metro station spurred change and a vibrancy in the area, which the artist reflects in his work, Swampoodle Evolved.
