Nakeya Brown (she/her) is a conceptual photographer. She completed her Bachelor of Art from Rutgers University and her Master of Fine Arts from The George Washington University. Her work has been featured internationally and nationally in recent solo exhibitions at Christopher Newport University, greengrassi, and Hobart & William Smith College; and in group exhibitions at the Folkwang Museum, Katonah Museum, and the Eubie Blake Cultural Center. In 2017, she was named a recipient of the Snider Prize Award. Brown’s photography has been published in Essence, Aperture, BmoreArt, Vogue, and Wallpaper*. Her work has been included in photography books MFON: Women Photographers of the African Diaspora, Girl on Girl: Art and Photography in the Age of the Female Gaze, and Babe.
